The ETA is required in the following cases: Tourist stays, visits to relatives, business trips, short-term studies or stopovers in the UK.  <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>To apply in <strong>just a few minutes<\/strong><\/strong>, simply complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/uk-gb.net\/en\/online-form-eta-visa-england\/\">online ETA form<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is affected by the UK ETA?<\/h2>\n\n<p>The number of <a href=\"https:\/\/uk-gb.net\/en\/countries-that-can-apply-for-eta-uk\/\">countries eligible for the UK&#8217;s ETA<\/a> is gradually expanding.<\/p>\n\n<p>The program was first deployed in the Middle East, with the following initial stages:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Since 2023, the ETA has enabled Qatari nationals to avoid having to apply for a visa to England from Qatar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Since February 2024: <a href=\"https:\/\/uk-gb.net\/en\/england-visa-from-saudi-arabia\/\">Saudi nationals can obtain an ETA<\/a> instead of a visa for the UK.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>All European countries have been added to the UK ETA system. European nationals can now <a href=\"https:\/\/uk-gb.net\/en\/online-form-eta-visa-england\/\">apply for ETA online<\/a> before embarking for the UK. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What visas and authorizations are required to travel to the UK?<\/h2>\n\n<p>The UK offers <a href=\"https:\/\/uk-gb.net\/en\/different-types-of-british-visas\/\">several types of visa<\/a> or authorization, depending on the traveler&#8217;s profile, the reason for the stay and its duration. For short stays, certain nationals can avoid the classic visa procedure by using the ETA electronic authorization. Here&#8217;s a clear guide to the options available.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Do I need a visa to travel to the UK?<\/h3>\n\n<p>It all depends on your nationality and the purpose of your trip. Here are the main scenarios: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>You are an Irish citizen<\/strong>: No visa or ETA authorization is required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>You are a citizen of a country that used to be visa-exempt<\/strong>: This is the case for European, American and other partner country citizens. Depending on your nationality, this may be a <a href=\"https:\/\/uk-gb.net\/en\/eta-england-united-kingdom\/\">UK ETA<\/a> or a <a href=\"https:\/\/uk-gb.net\/en\/transit-visa-stopover-in-england-uk\/\">transit visa<\/a>. This requirement applies even if you do not pass through border control.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can I travel with an ETA instead of a visa?<\/h3>\n\n<p>The<strong>ETA electronic authorization<\/strong> is sufficient if your stay meets these conditions:<\/p>\n\n<p>\u2705 Tourist stay, family visit, short studies, business trip<br\/>\u2705 Maximum duration of 6 months<br\/>\u2705 Transit through the UK<br\/>\u2705 Paid artistic mission of less than 3 months (in certain specific cases)<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The limits of ETA authorization<\/h3>\n\n<p>\u274c ETA does not :<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Staying longer than 6 months<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working for a British company<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Setting up a business or becoming self-employed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receive public assistance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To marry or register a civil union<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set up permanently<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>In all these cases, a <a href=\"https:\/\/uk-gb.net\/en\/different-types-of-british-visas\/\">British visa<\/a> is required.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which destinations are the most popular for visa applications?<\/h3>\n\n<p>London remains the country&#8217;s main gateway, but other cities also attract many visitors. Travelers apply for a <a href=\"https:\/\/uk-gb.net\/en\/visa-to-london\/\">London visa<\/a> to land in England. Foreign tourists also visit England&#8217;s other main cities, applying for a <a href=\"https:\/\/uk-gb.net\/en\/visa-for-liverpool\/\">visa for Liverpool<\/a>.
