Online ETA form
For stays of less than 6 months in the UK, entry formalities can be completed entirely online. There’s no need to make an appointment at the embassy: a simple Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is all you need.

The online application takes just a few minutes to complete if you have your travel documents. You need to enter your personal details to obtain your ETA. Payment is made online once the form has been validated. You will then receive confirmation of your ETA by email.
If you are a citizen of a European country, since April 2025 you have been required to obtain an ETA UK travel authorization before embarking for a UK country. You need to log on online to the official gov.uk website to apply for your ETA.

How long does it take to process an ETA application?
Once payment has been made, the ETA request is automatically forwarded for processing. In most cases, the procedure is fully computerized, and the reply is sent by e-mail in just a few minutes.
However, some applications may require further review. The UK government allows a maximum of 3 days to process an application. It is therefore strongly recommended that you apply at least 72 hours before your departure for the UK.
How long is an ETA valid for?
ETA authorization for the UK is valid for two years from the date of approval. During this period, you may make as many visits as you wish, provided that each visit does not exceed 6 months.
The ETA is linked to the passport used at the time of application. If your passport expires or is renewed, you will need to apply for a new ETA. For stays of more than 6 months, a UK visa must be applied for.
