What are the formalities for visiting Liverpool?

As with any entry to the UK, the formalities for visiting Liverpool depend on your nationality. Nationals of the European Union, the United States, Canada and many other countries are now required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA ) if they do not have a visa.

This measure applies to tourist stays of less than six months. The ETA can be applied for online or via the official UK ETA application, and costs £10. Irish citizens or UK residents are not affected. Make sure you check the conditions before you leave to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
